Much has happened since the last time I wrote. I think I've gone through two jobs and just began a new one on July 31st that I'm pretty excited about.
In 2010, I became a Business Development Officer for Stewart Title of Alaska. In January 2015, I became the CEO of the Alaska Association of REALTORS®. Things were not all "rosey" there and I left there in March 2018. Fortunately, I found Taylored Restoration was looking for a Business Development Director and I came on board with them on July 31st.
This past June, I hosted my 9th "All-Class" Alumni Reunion for my high school alumni group in Las Vegas. It was a three-day event and we had about 270 people attend. It was another fantastic reunion with many first-timers. My entire family was there, so that made it extra special. My grandson Kohen actually stayed with me the second week I was there, so we had a nice grandpa-grandson week of swimming, shopping and eating a lot of orange chicken at Panda Express!
I also got to spend some time with my son Brendan's step-son Isaiah. The two boys kept us busy while they were both there.
My 10th reunion is already scheduled for 2021. I am already looking forward to hosting another one. They're fun and everyone is always so appreciative of my efforts.
Talk with you again soon!
I'm looking a little older these days compared to the profile pic on this blog!

Kohen
My life has been busy since my last post in 2010. My grandson Kohen Daniel Manwaring was born on July 12, 2010. He's been my #1 priority since then. Kohen is the joy of my life and I'm so happy to have him in my life. He's my buddy and we spend a lot of time together. I love him INFINITY.

There's Gold in that Cookie!
Damn it.
I thought for sure I had struck gold in that Carr's chocolate chip cookie I was eating this evening. After taking the last bite, I chewed it several times and then bit on something very, very hard! It immediately entered my mind that I was going to sue Carr's for that hard object that should NOT have been in my cookie! You've probably heard of the people finding mice heads in their chili, etc. Well, it was my turn this evening.
I took out the gob of cookie dough and, lo and behold, it was definitely a hard object. But it wasn't the fault of any Carr's bakers. It was a tooth cap that I had bit into. A tooth cap that was no longer capping MY tooth!
DAMN IT!
That short-lived thought of finally owning a Porsche, compliments of Carr's, flew out of my mind as fast as it had entered!

Red Skelton and The Pledge of Allegiance
I was talking to my brother Greg on Skype last night and, strangely enough, I brought up Red Skelton's interpretation of the Pledge of Allegiance. I mentioned that I thought every student in school should be required to watch or listen to it. Here is the YouTube link so you may view it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZBTyTWOZCM
I'm sure kids these days have never ever heard of Red Skelton. That's unfortunate!

I Got My Daughter Back, But If Only For One Night!
My daughter lives on her iPhone. 24/7. If not on a call, then typing away in a text frenzy. She's always caught up in her own little iPhone virtual world.
BUT not last night! She's behind on her payments to AT&T. Her phone was turned off!
It was one of the best nights ever. She was back, if ever so briefly. We talked more than usual. There were no constant buzzing sounds from her iPhone vibrating from incoming calls and text messages. There were no arguments with any of her "guy" friends. It was calm and peaceful last night.
I loved it, if only for one night!
